What is AWANA

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  It is a weekly club
for children ages 3 - 12.  We meet in the Fellowship Hall at First
Baptist Church of Morrisville on Sunday afternoons from 4-5:30p.

Our staff consists of a commander and secretary, teachers, helpers, and
other volunteers.  Our staff undergoes background checks to comply with
the KidSafe program.

We start each club meeting with an opening ceremony, including the
Pledge to the American Flag, the Pledge to the Awana Flag, and the Awana
Song.  Then individual classes are dismissed for their club times.  At
the end, we gather for a group game or craft, then a closing ceremony.

Winter and Spring award ceremonies honor the clubbers for all of their hard work.

Our AWANA club partners with the rest of the FBCM family in a service
project for Operation Christmas Child.  During the first couple months
of club, we collect items for the boxes, then pack them together to send
off to children in need.

We do ask families to provide dues to help pay for the cost of the
program.  Currently, we request $10 per child, up to $30 per family at
time of registration.  The books and uniforms are an additional fee
(generally $8-10 per book and $6-12 per uniform).
